UCI World Championships Mont Saint Anne - Thursday in Photos

The downhill at MSA is fast and furious this year, with dusty, dry conditions and massive holes. Rain is coming, but no one knows when or how much. Until then, everyone is just keeping it on the limiter and trying to keep the rubber side down.

UCI World Championships Mont Saint Anne - Rob Warner Interview

Brett Tippie and Rob Warner catch up for some colorful commentary at the UCI World Championships here at Mont Saint Anne, Quebec.

In 1996 Rob Warner became the first ever British rider to win a round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup taking a historic win at Kaprun in Austria. He also became the UK National Champion in 1997, 1998 and finally in 2001. Nowadays we find him online doing commentary for all the World Cup Downhill events.

UCI World Championships Mont Saint Anne - Greg Herbold Interview

Brett Tippie and Greg Herbold sit down for some catch up and a little history lesson. Greg "H-Ball" Herbold was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in 1996.

Herbold, or HB, won the first UCI World Downhill Championship in Durango, Colorado in 1990. He won the NORBA National Downhill Championship in 1988, 1989, and 1993, and the North American Downhill Championship in 1991. He won the first dual slalom race at Mammoth Mountain in 1987.

We talked to one of the main men behind the development of the new super bike to get the lowdown on the how the new carbon frame came to be, and all of the other changes that have been made.
